Inno Counter — count production with a camera
A camera that counts what your line produces, recognises your own product, and posts the number onto the open production run.
A production line's output is usually a number a supervisor writes down. Inno Counter measures it with a camera instead, and posts the measurement onto the production run that is already open in the ERP.
How it works
- Point a camera at the line — an IP camera on the network, or a USB camera.
- Draw a counting line or a counting zone on the picture.
- Teach it the product by clicking on it in a frozen frame, or by uploading photographs.
- Open a production run in the ERP as you already do. The camera attaches itself to it within seconds — nobody presses anything on the line.
- The count appears live on the production-shift screen. When the supervisor closes the run, the number they declare posts the stock movement and the journal entry.
What makes it usable rather than a demo
- It counts the product, not movement. A smart filter checks each crossing against what it was taught, so a hand, a tray or a passing person is not counted.
- It says when it stops trusting itself. If the filter starts rejecting most of what crosses, it declares itself degraded, counts anyway rather than silently under-reporting, and raises a warning on the fleet screen.
- It keeps the pictures it was unsure about and sends a bandwidth-capped sample to head office, where somebody can teach it with one click from the ERP.
- It is a good neighbour on a shared PC. The vision work runs at below-normal priority with a capped thread count, so the till beside it stays responsive.
- It keeps counting when the internet does not. Counts are journalled locally and pushed when the connection returns.
- It updates itself. New versions and new trained models are downloaded, verified and swapped in without stopping a running count.
What it deliberately does not do
- It never posts stock by itself unless you switch that on for the branch — and when you do, every run it declares is stamped AUTOMATIC with no confirming name on it. Where counts drive pay or billing, leave it off.
- It does not estimate. If a camera was not watching, the run is reported as not counted rather than given a plausible number.
Running it
A Windows PC on the line, or a Raspberry Pi, or several cameras served by one machine as a background service that starts with the computer. Installed from a single branded installer alongside Inno Agent.
