Closing a van route cleanly — what blocks it and what should not

Three things can stop a route closing and only two of them should. Plus why a reprinted receipt shows last week’s balance.

Closing a route, and what may block it

A route closes when the day is settled. Three things can stop it, and only two of them should.

Excluded is not hidden

The close returns the numbers it left out, in both languages, and the board keeps showing those orders as never accepted. An exclusion nobody is told about is the same as a missing figure.

Reading a receipt’s balance

The previous and current balance printed on a van receipt are the balance as of that deal, not the customer’s balance today. That distinction is why a reprint of last week’s receipt shows last week’s figures — as it should. A receipt is a historical document.

If a sale did not sync

Open the offline queue. Anything parked there is listed with the reason, and Retry only ever retries the step that failed. Nothing in the queue is discarded by the app.
